APS-C lenses with M42 mount
This range is built for the APS-C image circle — noticeably larger than 4/3″, which is why it uses an M42 thread rather than C-mount. The vendor datasheets name the main application directly: line scan cameras with large pixels, where a big image circle and resolution headroom are required. Focal lengths from 18 to 55 mm, manual focus.

How to choose
The letters AF in the part number do not mean autofocus: the whole range is fixed focal length with manual focus. Most versions have a manual iris, but some are fixed (for example MVL-AF5528-M42) — check the specific part number. Mind the flange distance too: M42 will not fit a C-mount camera without an adapter, and the adapter adds its own thickness.
